Music Program

Abram Agnew Elementary's offer of early music development for all students is a highlight that very few schools in the Bay Area offer.
All 3rd-grade students get weekly lessons in xylophone, recorder, and beginning vocal music, with a major focus on reading music. The upper-class students are offered an array of instruments to play. Students in 4th and 5th grades can share their preferred beginning instrument for orchestra or band. Orchestra offers a choice of the string instruments: violin, viola, and cello. Band students choose flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, or percussion.
